The Ark
Band

The Ark Band is a St
Lucia foundation reggae band now based in Columbus,
Ohio. Founded in 1987 by Terry Bobb and Eustace Bobb,
the St Lucian Riddim Twins, drums and bass respectively,
The Ark Band continues its reggae odyssey throughout the
United States and on occasion has traveled to Canada and
Jamaica to share its roots reggae (with a likkle bit of
soca) with the peoples of the world.
Combining heavenly harmonies with tight crisp
performances, this powerhouse of talent captures their
audiences with their very first note. Its repertoire
combines original compositions with classic and current
reggae hits designed to entertain, educate and enlighten
all varieties of people. Its songs continue to express
the love, peace, togetherness and spirituality needed in
our world today and Jah Rastafari remains the central
inspiration for the band's music.
The Ark Band operates with this mission-- We believe
that reggae music is a powerful force that will unite
people of all ages, races, abilities and walks of life
and we play the reggae with this thought in mind.

The
Patriot's Symphonic Band
5:00 pm - 6:15 pm
The Patriots Symphonic
Band was formed in 1977 to provide a place for area
musicians to continue their interest in music
performance past the high school level. The band strives
to encourage the enjoyment of listening to live musical
entertainment in the American tradition of the community
band.
Our players come from all walks of life and are drawn
from nearly every city and town in our region.
Secretaries, Librarians, Engineers, Students, Lawyers
and Stay-at-home-Moms are joined by a significant
percentage of music professionals. The group is
all volunteer, non-profit, and is also designated a
501(c)(3) publicly supported charity.
Each performance includes a
wide variety of music to appeal to audience members of
all ages. Musical styles typically include marches,
Broadway show tunes, Big Band, patriotic, and plenty of
American Band Classics! Additionally, a Patriots Holiday
concert includes many seasonal favorites. |
